Welcome to the Telecommunications Heritage Group Website
The Telecommunications Heritage group or THG for short is a hobby group for like minded individuals. The THG is a society for everyone interested the technical, organizational & social history of Telecommunications. The Telecommunications Heritage Group members in the UK and around the world who have interests that include telephones, switching systems, telegraphs, payphones and kiosks and other hardware.The complete heritage of telecommunications – civil, military, transport, public, private, ancient and modern, British and foreign – is studied across the membership.
What does being a member Offer?

In person Swapmeets
As a paid member you have access to in person Swapmeets. We have 2 a year at Avoncroft and Milton Keynes.
We also have Swapmeets and meetings held at various places.

Resources and Documents
You will have access to the Online Virtual Swapmeet Group on Facebook for swaps, wants and selling/buying.
You have access to the THGR, THG Documents and which you can find links to here.

Journals
You get 4 journals a year for UK members and worldwide members get a digital version of the journal.

Social Media
We have multiple social media accounts. Most are open to the public and others are for paid members. To find out more click here.
We have Facebook groups, Instagram, threads, X (formally Twitter) and mastodon.
The Official Telecommunications Heritage group on Facebook is open to everyone who has an interest in the hobby.
The Online Virtual Swapmeet Group on Facebook is for paid members of the THG. It’s a year round Swapmeet online for members. It’s great for wants, swaps, selling and buying.

The Beginners Guide to all things Telecommunications has been made to help those who are new to the hobby, if you wise to know more about a certain type of Telecommunications or if you are just interested in the history of certain aspects.
Please remember this isn’t an in-depth guide to Telecommunications but rather a starting guide.
